ARRIVED IN INDIA
It’s been a long two days of travel, lots of movies, catching up on reading, bad food, bad air and sleeping up right trying not to drool on my neighbour.
This is all part of the journey which leads to more depth to a character that gets rich by the moment. So I am completely grateful for all this… It only leads to more greatness!
My eyes are burning from sleep deprivation blended with smog.
My driver picked me up and we are on our way to Rishikesh. The traffic reminds me of bumper cars without crashing. Mos def some close calls… Wow! There are layers and layers of story and history amongst the dust and honking.
This place is a writers paradise. Scenes of the movie Amal keep popping in my head. What my eyes see is reality. It’s what people at home right now are watching on TV. It is real people it’s not fiction this world is full of poverty and these people are happy.
Stopped at a set of lights. Someone came to our window. I looked right into her eyes. I wanted to promise her the world. I wanted so much to give her more than the 25 rupee I had in my pocket. As I placed it in her tiny little dirty palm the rupee almost covered the size of her hand as her mother carried her around begging for more. The life you live is yours. I say it’s a choice but at this point I ask myself why would this women choose this life for her and her child. We are born into this world for a reason some never get to understand that reason, therefore I am feeling so fortunate right now to know that reason and to live it to the full capacity.
